College, teamed up with the Chad
newspaper,
The Mansfield Business Improvement District (BID) and Linney Group to run the ‘I
Mansfield Film Festival’.
People were asked to turn their love of Mansfield into a short film, using anything
from a mobile phone to a camcorder.
A judging panel made up of college media tutor Michael Rhodes, Mansfield’s deputy
youth mayor Dawn Meade, Linney Group’s head of multimedia Iain Swales and Chad reporter
Ben McVay have picked out the best entries.
Prizes were handed out to the winners by event sponsors at a special presentation
at the college.
The winners are:
Overall best film
Gary Greenwood with his film ‘Why I
Mansfield’ starring his six-year-old daughter Gabby.
This landed Gary the top prize of an iPad 2, Sony DVD Handycam and Tuff-Cam child-friendly
digital camera.
George Chrisou, who won an iPod Touch and Tuff-Cam for his entry ‘Manshatten’.
Lisa Martin scooped a Sony Cyber-shot digital camera for entry ‘Mansfield – The Silent
Hours’.
Under-18
Reuben Gathercole won a Sony Handycam with his entry ‘I Heart Berry Hill’.
Over-18
Elliot Tebbs with his film ‘Mansfield Skateplaza’, which saw him win a Sony DVD Handycam.
Laura Mynett and Lisa Morrow with their entry ‘Laura Mynett and Lisa Morrow heart
Mansfield’, with each winning a Sanyo digital camera.
Prizes were donated by Gem Vending, Stone Group, Konica Minolta Business Solutions
East and Phoenix Computers.
